Show Notes For This Episode

Welcome into the debut episode of the Comeback Cincinnati podcast, where we’ll be spotlighting local businesses in southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky every episode. The goal is to learn about their challenges and how they’re adapting to a new normal.

There’s no better way to kick things off than turning to the restaurant industry, where the COVID-19 pandemic has forced many businesses to close while others have made changes and looked for solutions to a problem that no one saw coming. Ignite Entertainment owns eight different restaurants in Cincinnati including one of Dan’s favorites, The Butcher and Barrel. They’ve seen first-hand how the industry has struggled to survive while customers stay home, but they’ve also pivoted to meet the needs of the city and keep the business alive.

Lisa Colina is the Director of Communications and Events and we asked her to be our first guest on the podcast. We wanted to find out how more about their restaurants and what makes their cuisine different from other places but then find out what this pandemic has meant to all of their operations. A few of these Ignite establishments have large event spaces that get booked years in advance and that’s been one of the major challenges for their group. They’ve had to put everything on hold until more information becomes available about the pandemic and what the future holds.

Join us for a discussion on how Ignite has adjusted the menu, relied even more on synergy, and which business techniques could be here to stay. There’s a lot to learn about where we are and where we’re headed. There’s still a lot of work to do but Ignite Entertainment is working hard to keep serving Cincinnati.

As you go through the episode today, keep an ear out for some of these topics that we cover:

  • Moving to an online ordering system.
  • How their businesses worked together.
  • Why these shifts will continue moving forward.
  • What lessons they’ve learned during the pandemic.
  • How to build loyalty with customers.
  • What they will do with event spaces while the current health issues exist.

Thanks for joining us for the show. You can learn more about Ignite entertainment here.
